Sleeper blanket for Bitty Baby + Bitty Twin Doll



What you need

  • fabric of your choice (fleece, flannel, cotton)
  • 14" zipper


How to make the sleeper blanket

1. Download pattern here
    Make sure page scaling is set to none !
    For private use only !!!

2. Add zipper to the two front pieces and top stitch
    (I sewed first the shoulder pieces and then added the zipper.
    That's why the pictures don't match the instructions)



3. Sew shoulder seams together ( 1/4" seam as every where else as well)

4. Hem neck and sleeve openings with a 1/4" hem

5. Sew all around


You are done !!!

Pants for Bitty Baby + Bitty Twin Doll

What you need

  • 1/3 yrd fabric (knit, denim, cotton, corduroy,...)
  • 1/4" elastic 12" long

How to make the pants

1. Download pattern here

    This pattern is copyrighted by me, ReadCreations.
    This pattern is for private use only !!!!
    Make sure you have page scaling set to none !

2.  Sew front together (with 1/4" seam allowance as everywhere else)

3. Hem top with a 1/2" hem (forms casing for elastic)

4. Insert elastic in hem

5. Sew back together (make sure to sew elastic as well)

6. Hem both leg bottoms with a 1/2" hem

7. Sew leg inseam

Shirt for Bitty Baby + Bitty Twin Doll

What you need

  • 1/4 yrd fabric (knit, fleece, ...)
  • knit fabric for cuffs
  • velcro


How to make the shirt

    Make sure you have page scaling set to none !

2. Sew arms to front and back with a 1/4" seam (as all seams)
 

3. Cut 1 strip 9 1/2" x 1 1/4" from knit fabric (stretch is along the long side)
    Fold both short ends in 1/4" and then fold in half lengthwise (hiding the raw ends)
    Sew cuff to neck opening (stretching to make it fit)

4. Top stitch neck cuff

5. Cut 2 strips 4 1/2" x 1 1/4" from knit fabric (stretch is along the long side)
    Sew cuff to sleeve (stretching to make it fit)
    Then top stitch.
 

6. Sew side seams

7. Cut 1 strip 16 1/2" x 1 1/4" from knit fabric (stretch is along the long side)
    Fold both short ends in 1/4" and then fold in half lengthwise (hiding the raw ends)
    Sew cuff to shirt bottom (here you don't need to stretch)
    Then top stitch

8. Add velcro

Sleeper for Bitty Baby + Bitty Twin Doll

 

What you need

  • 1/2 yrd knit fabric for Sleeper
  • knit fabric for cuffs and feet
  • velcro or snap buttons

How to make the Sleeper

    Make sure you have page scaling set to none !

2. Cut pieces A, B and C from Sleeper fabric
    Cut pieces D (Foot top, not marked on pattern) and E (sole, not marked on pattern) from cuff fabric
    for feet (or you can use same fabric as for footie)
    Cut a strip 1 1/4" x 8" from cuff fabric for neck cuff but use less, pull while sewing to make it lay 
    flat, pull more in the front (more rounded part) and less in the back. 
    Cut 2 strips 1 1/4" x 4" from cuff fabric for sleeve cuffs.

3. Take piece C and 1 sleeve cuff. Fold sleeve cuff lengthwise in half.
    Sew sleeve onto right side of piece C, stretching to fit.
    Repeat for other sleeve
  

4. Take front pieces A and fold front about 3/8" and sew with 1/4" seam.
    Repeat for other piece.

5. Take both pieces A and overlap fronts to match layout of piece B.
     Sew bottom 2" together.

6. Right sides together, sew A and B shoulder seams

7. Right sides together, sew sleeves C into AB.

8. Take neck cuff and fold in half lengthwise.
    At beginning and end unfold and fold 1/4" in then refold to give a nice finish.
    Sew to right side of neckline, stretching to make it fit.
  

9. Top stitch neckline

10. Sew D to right side of front of foot on A.
      Repeat for other foot.

11. Right sides together, sew from sleeve along side to feet.
      Repeat on other side.

12. Sew leg inseam

13. Sew sole E to D and B

14. Add velcro or snap buttons to front.

Skirt for Bitty Baby + Bitty Twin Doll


What you need

  • 1/4 yrd cotton or knit fabric
  • 1/4" elastic 12" long


How to make the skirt

1. Cut one strip   3 3/4 x 15" (layer 1)
    Cut one strip   3 1/2 x 30" (layer 2)

2. Take short strip (layer 1) and sew a 1/2" hem along the  long side.
    This will be the case for the elastic.
    Sorry, my daughter had already made the dress, therefor the pictures are all part of the finished dress.

3. Take long strip (layer 2) and sew a 1/4" hem along one of the long sides

4. Along the other long side sew 1/8" with extra long stitches.

5. Gather to 15" long

6. Sew the 2 layers right sides together

7. Insert elastic in casing of layer1

8. Sew short sides together.
    Make sure you sew the elastic as well


You are done !!!

Hat for Bitty Baby + Bitty Twin Doll


What you need

  • 1/4 yrd knit fabric

How to make the hat

1. Download pattern here

    Make sure you have page scaling set to none !

2. Sew both long sides with 1/4" seam (as all seams)
 

3. Open and lay just sewn seams on top of each other.
    Sew small opening


4. Cut a 11 1/2" x 2" strip (stretch along the long side)
    Sew small sides together

5. Fold in half (left sides together)
    Sew to bottom of hat (on right side of hat)


You are done !!!

Diaper for Bitty Baby + Bitty Twin Doll


What you need

  • 1/3 yrd fabric (flannel, ...)
  • 2 small pieces of velcro

How to make the diaper

1. Download pattern here

    Make sure you have page scaling set to none !

2. Sew all around with 1/4" seam. Leave a 1" opening on the back
 

3. Make small cuts in inward curve and remove small triangles in outward curve
    (make sure you don't cut the stitches)
    See picture above


4. Turn inside out and top stitch all around

5. Add velcro


You are done !!!
